I agree whole-heartedly, and what you said about the overstatement of Python’s slow speed is definitely something I find valid. There really isn’t a good reason to use C for DS, although it is still rather cool in my opinion (to mess around with.) It would be way too consuming and grueling to do a full DS project with C.

Honestly if I can’t do what I need to do in Python, I just use Julia or Scala, and they work super well functionally, and Julia especially is far more readable and easier to get up and running. Python has caused me a few issues with crashing kernels and hitting speed barriers when using A LOT of data, obviously. With the future in Julia, especially, there certainly is no great reason for using C.
