That is a good point, I hadn't considered that before. We should consider though that a lot of these mass shooters buy their guns legally. This is not to say that they wouldn't buy them illegally if they were less accessible, but less accessible means just that: less accessible.

Regardless of if the guns disappear immediately, they become less accessible, there becomes less of them. It becomes a risk to even just carry one.
