Yeah, it is certainly a yikes down here. Luckily, transphobia -- or more broadly, prejudice -- isn't logical, so it is pretty easy to argue this stuff as it is all here-say and anecdotes. Notice how I am the only one citing any data?
I couldn't imagine how much more difficult it would be without the internet -- completely disconnected from a description to put into words what you needed. I am sorry you had to go through that, and I am sorry that your generation is what your generation is.
Things will get better. They will likely get worse, first, but they will eventually get better.
Turns out there was actually another one of these transgender hate waves back in the 80s -- which is also when conservatives redefined gender from its conceptual term (meaning what we describe it is) to what they describe it as (sex.) Just to invalidate us. They've also been destroying and falsifying our records for all of transgender history. Honestly, transgender history is so sad to read because SO much historical information about us has been destroyed intentionally in the name of prejudice.
Maybe you'll like this poem, though. It might more-so describe women, but man if it didn't resonate with me ...
